Achievements:
Breeding Price 60% on 2 (all races),
Breeding Price 60% on 3 (only good races), and Breeding Price 50% 4, 5 years old (only good races) gives the Italian bred horse more earnings.
This has been designed to support the Italian breeders especially the sale of young horses and possibly raise again the numbers of mares bred and foals born.
Territories
Over 100,000 hectares of permanent grassland are affected to the Thoroughbred breeding industry in the regions of Bologna, Brescia, Latina, Parma, Perugia, Rieti, Roma, Sienna, Novara and Viterbo.
Employment
Around 500 people are directly employed by the breeding industry and around 300 jobs indirectly result from this business. In total, 50,000 jobs are generated by the Racing industry in Italy, including the betting industry.
Sales
Auction sales have been organised since 1963 in Italy, first managed by the ANAC, which was then relayed in 2002 by the SGA Società Gestione Aste. In 2014, 140 horses were registered in the catalogues, 114 passed through the ring and 87 were sold.
Racing
16 racecourses are spread in the whole country. Italy hosts 491 race days every year.
Betting
The total betting activity on racing worths about €500 million.
