Hungarian people call themselves a ‘Horseback nation’. During the Hungarian Derby, nearly ten thousand people attend the races at Kincsem Park, the racecourse in Budapest called after the name of the famous Hungarian mare born in 1874 and who won the 54 races she ran at various racetracks across Europe.
Besides the Kincsem Park, there is another official racecourse in Hungary in Oroshaza, known for holding the first official horse race on June 1827.
