Turkish races are held on 6 racecourses, and a seventh one is in construction.

Betting revenue in Turkey approaches €1.5 million and has been in constant growth for several years. The government levies half of this sum, and the remaining half is allocated to the industry.

In order to develop racing in the country, the Turkish Jockey Club has been aware of the need to encourage breeding. 4 Thoroughbred Boarding Stud farms have been created in order to provide breeders with stallions of good origins and to give them a fair chance to make a profit.  The largest one, named Karacabey, employs 220 full-time staff and extends over 500 hectares.
