Passing of Dr Roland Devolz Notice Dr Roland Devolz RIP

The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA)wishes to expresse its sadness following the passing of Dr Roland Devolz.

Dr Devolz served the internationl bloodstock industry, initially as a Veterinarian and a University teacher – and later as a racing advisor and administrator,  in France and on the wider worldwide stage through his enduring friendship with Louis Romanet, from the formative years of the IFHA and onwards right through to the present.

He cared passionately for the integrity of the sport and its breeding industry. Never afraid to be confrontational when he deemed it necessary, he was always at heart, a “teddy bear” with an ever present and often mischevious sense of humour. He never needed a formal introduction, just the mention of “Roland” meant that everyone knew who was being quoted ! He was one of the truly great servants of the industry.

EFTBA extends its  sympathy and condolences to Roland’s wife, Claude, and family. May he rest in peace.
